@dh405: I had a Xenium ICE modchip in it and a custom skin. Also painted the side "vanes" on it white with white-out. It was the best I had at the time

But if I remember correctly I got it in and functioning but lost interest before I could get Chromwell to work properly with Linux, memory serving it kept freezing on me when I told it to boot from CD or hard drive.

I remember I cracked open a wireless controller dongle and stuffed that inside the Xbox. It was a pretty neat hack and was easy as could be, everything was USB and all the wires matched up in their color coding.

@0hm: I could give you a few tips but I'm not the greatest myself. http://www.ladyada.net/learn/soldering/thm.html has some really good tips. Also I like to be lazy and use solderless breadboards.

Even on my Xenium I used a solderless kit (but that was mostly so I could completely remove the kit if I ever wanted to, without leaving a trace, id est Returning for Warranty Repair)

Hey,

I was at the OKC2600 a few days ago and probably met quite a few of you but I'm horrible with names, sorry everyone.

I'm Tyler and was the idiot running around with the Oklahoma State University T-shirt on. I'm in college right now under Computer Engineering and have been using computers for well over a decade, probably closer to 15 years.

I'm mostly into embedded device hacking and lower level programming. I started on a TI-83 back in high school as well as improving my original X-Box to show off at LAN parties. C++ and Java (I know, I know) are my favorite languages, but I know quite a wide array of programming and scripting languages. Now I'm into making my own devices and automation.

I look forward to socializing with a lot of you and learning a lot more about what's out there.

So, hey all.

Better Decipimus, try your hand at making a few of your own! I have a little set I bought, but I plan on attempting to make a few. (I tried making one out of a Altoids tin...FAIL).

Some instructables show how to make tension wrenches out of wiper blades (found in most parking garages) http://www.instructables.com/id/Tension-wrenches-a-la-wiper-blade-inserts./

and

Making picks out of hacksaw blades. http://www.instructables.com/id/pocket-lock-pick-set/

Anyway, I think it'd be boss to see a few picks made out of novel materials.

It might be quick on a system with 2GB+ of RAM, but I can get the same results with 512MB on an XP box.

I do recognize, however, that your average user should have the protections that Vista provides. I just think it wasn't well executed. A stumble in the right direction, perhaps.

I'm probably going to wait it out to see what Windows 7 has to offer. Another year for the release date, I think.

0hm = mac user

however, i will state that XP has it's place. i'd say about 90% of businesses in the US. so we have to deal with what is there.

we complain, we patch, we re-install, we try running it in a VM to "keep em separated", but business comes down to this. users dont necessarily LIKE XP, but it's what they know and it's the hand they've been dealt by cost/education/applications so on and so on.

on the other side of the coin, for a person to say that macOS is an OS unto itself is ignorant. it's based on a *nix OS, BUT so is novell. *heh*

yes, Vista (mojave) is the best attempt MS has made at a "secure" OS.

in my experience, running vista when non-domain attached, it's actually kinda quick. and doesn't crash everytime i try something new.

Ive got this sony vaio here and a new shiny cirago Bluetooth adaptor and when the cirago is plugged in while Im running airodump I get thousands of bogus macadresses, Airodump doesnt see them right off, but when I go to look at my capture file , they are there, thousands of them!! Imagine tryin to run aircrack and selecting your network out of several thousand, its a pain in the butt, lemme tell ya!

At first I didnt know what was causing it, but I removed the blue tooth adaptor and havent had the issue so long as the bluetooth adaptor is removed. Was Airodump capturing thousands of bluetooth devices in my cap file!??! Surely this cannot be possible.

Hmm any ideas what is causing this? Just some random bug perhaps?

Also note, that when I use the very same bluetooth device in another laptop, it doesnt happen at all.
